Deutsch Nepal / Mental Destruction

Live performance - July 9, 1995

Deutsch Nepal: Swedish project of inner utopia, a project of musical automatism and tearing of the atmosphere. Its music is a dreamy formation, a music, which is limited only by the ability of the listeners' imagination.

"I hope that some of the ideas and feelings which are influenced and arise from my composition, they will be absorbed into your mind and maybe they will appear as a secret nook in your perception."
Lina, one member of Deutsch Nepal

The group has been influenced primarily by the work of C. G. Jung and Carlos Castaneda. The style? Harsh, ambient, industrial. The computers plus the analogue synthesisers are a production expedient of one of the best musical projects of Sweden.

Mental Destruction: A Swedish three-member project, whose members create and live in the town of Göteborg, as well as D. Nepal. Their work is musical existentialism. They compose their music largely on computers, the result is then some kind of picture of reality, a computer's world and a computer's oppression in which we fall into. Samuel, the vocalist of this project, augments this atmosphere by his voice which sounds as if it is entering equipment from the other world. Their musical expression is not quite original as other Swedish projects, but as Roger Karmanik, the director of label CMI says, "this project is the best one - when is has to do with live presentation."
