Forgettable Orchestra of the World of Dreamers
Gulliver´s Travels III.

The third in a series of improvised performances for an orchestra, an actor and film projection. The stage project of musician and visual artist Jaroslav Kořán.

Gulliver´s Travels is a series of performances of a mixture of genres.

During the composition of Gulliver´s Travels, Swift often opened his heart up to his best friend Alexander Pope:

...I have employd my time (besides ditching) in finishing correcting, amending, and Transcribing my Travells, in four parts. Compleat newly Augmented, and intended for the press when the world shall deserve them, or rather when a Printer shall be found brave enough to venture his Eares, I like your Schemes of our meeting after Distresses and dispertions but the chief end I propose to my self in all my labors is to vex the world rather than divert it, and if I could compass that designe without hurting my own person or Fortune I would be the Indefatigable writer you have ever seen without reading. I am exceedingly pleased that your have done with Translations Lord Treasurer Oxford often lamented that a rascaly World should lay you under a Necessity of Misemploying your Genius for so long a time. But since ou will now be so much better employd when you think of the World give it one lash the more at my Request. I have ever hated all Nations professions and Communityes and all my love is towards individuals for instance I hate the tribe of Lawyers, but I love Councellor such a one, Judge such a one for so with Physicians (I will not Speak of my own Trade) Soldiers, English, Scotch, French; and the rest but pricipally I hate and detest that animal called man, although I hartily love John, Peter, Thomas and so forth. this is the system upon which I have governed my self many years (but do not tell) and so I shall go on till I have done with them I have Materials Towards a Treatis proving the falsity of that Definition animal rationale; and to show it should be only rationis capax. Upon this great foundation of Misanthropy (though not Timons manner)

The Forgotten Orchestra of the Land of Dreamers
The Forgotten Orchestra of the Land of Dreamers is an experiment. It is about a musical forum in which everyone improvises for himself so that he does not interrupt the others. Better yet, that together they may find a statement or a spirit. Various musical medias, and even musical styles, are used. Often they also experiment with projections and backgrounds of pictures. It is a moment, an impression of a second. What occurs is what we find in the here and now. The game is an important participant. Not to read notes, to play for one´s self. And what kind of spirit this generates.

The Forgotten Orchestra of the Land of Dreamers for this evening include:
Tereza Roglová (voice and percussion)
Jan Alan (violin, bass guitar)
Jaroslav Kořán (percussion, sounds)
Michal Kořán (sampler)
Matěj Kroupa (violin)
Roman Plischke (guitar, tenor saxophone)
Petr Tichý (contrabass)
Petr Varjú (soprano saxophone, baritone saxophone, klarinet)
