Mona Rogers we własnej osobie (Mona Rogers in Person)

Polish actress Jolanta Cynkutis in a play by Philip-Dimitri Galas.
March 2 and 3,1998 in the Archa Theatre

Jolanta Cynkutis started her acting career in 1980 when she participated in a workshop led by Zbihniev Cynkutis of the Teatr Laboratorium (Laboratory Theatre) in Wroslav. In 1985 - 1989, she was an actress in the Drugie Studio Wroclawkie, and since 1994, she has been working in the theatre group "Sekta", founded by Lech Raszak of the famous Theatre of the Eighth Day. Under his leadership, she has also been working in the Polish Theatre in Poznan.
The author of the mono-drama "Mona Rogers in Person" is a playwright, actor, circus performer, and stage designer, Philip-Dimitri Galás, whose unhappy fate we primarily from the work of his sister Diamanda Galás. Galás created his own kind of theatre, which he entitled "Avant-Vaudeville", whose foundation is the presentation of American themes in a European form.
The play, "Mona Rogers in Person", premiered in San Diego, California, in 1985, and its European premiere with Jolanta Cynkutis took place almost ten years later on March 30, 1996. Cynkutis presented it last year in Chen, Czech Republic, in the framework of the Theatre for One Actor Festival.
This performance was made in collaboration with Bogumil Gauden and Janusz Stolarský. It was awarded the Jury Award in the Polish Festival of Theatre for One Actor in Torun, in the Wroclav meeting of Theatre for One Actor, and in the Theater of Small Forms; Jolanta Cynkutis received several prizes during these festivals for her performance.
The mono-drama, "Mona Rogers in Person", is the story of a woman who doesn't want to be average and common, and who longs greatly for the world to see her as a special and extraordinary woman. She doesn't try to reach the top. On the contrary, the very bottom.
