CandoCo (UK)
Phasing, Sour Milk, Shadow

February 9-11, 8 p.m., Ponec Theatre

CandoCo is a British integrated dance company, whose dancers are both physically handicapped and non-handicapped. Since it was established in 1991, it has succeeded in building up a reputation as a top dance ensemble, presenting contemporary dance theatre of the highest quality with particular emphasis on excellence as well as its rapport with the audience. Following a very successful guest appearance in 2001, CandoCo returns to the Czech Republic with three new works: Phasing, Sour Milk and Shadow.

Phasing - choreographed by Jamie Watton
Strands of delicate movement are gently interwoven to create a playful and vivacious study of human relations set to an uplifting soundtrack by the Steve Reich Group. Energetic and colourful, Phasing will make your spirits soar.

Sour Milk - choreographed by Javier de Frutos
Against a dramatic score of ancient Chinese drumming, the repressed, ritualistic movement of this quartet explodes into an exhilarating and passionate climax. Sumptuous 19th century costumes and stark lighting contrast in this stunningly theatrical piece.

Shadow - choreographed by Fin Walker
Fast-paced and furious, Shadow is performed with photographic precision by the company, creating pulses of energy that spark an equivalent response from the audience. Interspersed with snapshots of stillness and moments of reflection the end result is exuberant, powerful and totally absorbing.
