Stan: Earnest

The theatre company, Stan, is properly from the new generation of European theatre. During this time, where "post-modern theatre" overfills the stage, with its use of stage effects, luxurious costumes, makeup and wigs, we lose the actor. Stan arrives with a much more sober style. They choose the theme of the classic theatre, playing with conviction and sharp irony. The performance is created without a director, the text is already substantially condensed, their presentation is abstract, the work of the actor is understood like a play of mutual agreement. For the actor, it is the work of the fellow actor that is the most important part of the performance. This group's very special approach to the theatre comes at just the right time - the members of Stan acquired international recognition after their graduation from the Antwerp conservatory five years ago.
Ernst is the adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest.

Stan Theatre Company is composed of: Jolente De Keersmaeker, Frank Vercruyssen, Sara De Roo, Willy Thomas, Mieke Verdin and Damiaan De Schrijver.
