Jan Fabre
Zij was en zij is, zelfs
She was and she is, even
The famous European theatre director and choreographer, Jan Fabre, comes to Prague for the first time!
The first of two performances presented in the Archa Theatre, is a monologue based on "The Large Glass " by Marcel Duchamp. It is a very complex work about the eternal longing and the desire for fulfilment that is never reached. The Bride in the performance is a metaphor for the sex machine which is constructed out of engines - men and bachelors who try to ignite the Bride's engine.
Performed by: Els Deceuklier.

The very seat of honour
This time, Jan Fabre as a choreographer. In Fabre´s concept, this solo dance piece represents the choleric summer from his "Four Temperaments". Fabre was inspired by the spanking ritual of the Victorian age. He cleverly combines the repeatedly changes of dancers Georges Balanchine and Gene Kelly with the music of Iannis Xenaxis and Robert Fripp.
