Petr Nikl: Hnízda her (Nests of Games)
From January 12 until February 20, 2000, the Rudolfinum Gallery and the Archa Theatre present the artistic project of Petr Nikl and friends. The out-standing Prague gallery has become a playground - something new will happen everyday! The exhibition is in perpetual transformation and each evening at 6:00 p.m., the artists will create a small performance. The exhibition is open from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily, except Monday.

Praha mizerná (Wretched Prague)
The second evening dedicated to the suburbs of Prague.
The premiere of the next series of films from the documentary film cycle produced by Czech Television and Negativ comp. The evening will also include performances by Filip Topol and the musical groups Echt!.

Pictures of an Outside Life
Most Czechs have had to read the novel, "Grandmother" by Božena Němcová, as children in school. This "fetishistic revue" is a very clever and fun adaptation of the popular novel. Popular Czech actor Jiří Pecha performs the title role.

Script and direction: Aurel Klimt, design: Martin Velíšek, music: Miroslav Wanek, live musical accompaniment: Už jsme doma.
The theatrical performance based on the animated film by Aurel Klimt. An unusual project of the Minor Theatre (Divadlo Minor) in Prague, connecting the techniques of traditional puppetry with the distinctive visual art conception of the controversial painter/sculptor, Martin Velíšek, and the music of the legendary Czech alternative rock group, Už jsme doma. Live music of the group will accompany the performance in the Archa Theatre. A concert will follow.
This production is for children of all ages.

Terry Riley - Cactus Rosary (1990)
Our most famous contemporary musical orchestra presents their first premiere this year- the audio-visual project "Pattern" including a video created by Martin Balžíček.
The second part of tonight's concert is the composition "Cactus Rosary", whose author - the outstanding American musical composer Terry Riley - is marked as a minimalistic meditator.
Presented in collaboration with the Society for New Music.
