Maniacal Movement - compositions of John Adams
The ensemble of contemporary music's latest concert dedicated to the work of the leader of the second generation of American minimalism. Music of John Adams is influenced by Bach, Schönberg or Stravinsky as well as American pop-culture. Contrapuntal and rhythmic structures of his compositions are played in the tempo reminding one of a maniacal sprinter.

Jerzy Grotowski - Attempt at a Portrait
Czech premier of two film documentaries that are a critical analysis of the work of one of the greatest theatrical reformers of the Twentieth century. The films contain never before seen footage from some of his performances. "Attempt at a portrait" by Polish documentary filmmaker Marie Zmarz-Koczanowicz was completed this year. The film, "Grotowski", was made by French director Jean Marie Drot in 1999.
Presented in collaboration with the Polish Institute.

I. Animated Films
A representative choice of twelve German animated films from the past five years. It is possible to find here various formal and thematic approaches - from the animated adaptation of King Ubu through to the grotesque Time of Feeding, as well as the abstract films Windy Refuge and The Roots, which is a poetry about theme of the microscopic world of plants, through its metamorphosis of the colors and shapes.

A series of seven short films - more or less black micro-comedies - from the recent decade, which arise from the brightly elements of the genres (mainly from Hollywood), without completing the genre as a whole. The wholes are on the opposite non-genres, original, surprising.

Isabelle Choiniére: Cutting the Skin (Le partage des peaux)
Performance of Canadian performance art Isabelle Choiniére connects "High-End" technologies with an esthetic conception of modern dance. A connection of the real and virtual body. Choiniére, with the help of sensors connected to computers, creates a new type of dance cyborg who moves in the cybernetic space.
