Czech musical scene - ten years after
Two-day public seminar analyzing Czech music scene.

This year for the fourth time, the independent association of Periskop will award their Yellow Submarines - the private awards which map above all of last year's albums. The three day activity in the Archa Theatre will offer this time much more than last year's awards ceremony.
On Friday, March 3, the devilish combination Hradišťan - Už jsme doma will perform in the Archa Theatre. They will receive the Yellow Submarine for their album O slunovratu (About the Solstice) and Uši (Ears). One day later, in the framework of a concert, the other awards will be given to Zuzana Navarová and Ivan Gutiérrez, for the album Skleněná vrba (The Glass Willow Tree) and Jan Spálený & ASPM, for the album Až srdce usedá (After the Heart Breaks). The highlight of Saturday evening will be the premiere of the new programme of Oldřich Janota, who will create musical-staged performance especially for this occasion. The prize for "the permanent exception" Man was given to Janota who is able to walk through wall...
But the concerts are only horizons which are added to Saturday and Sunday all-day programmes - Yellow Conference. "Attempting to Diagnosis the Modern Music Scene" is a seminar, subtitled The Current Music Scene after Ten Years of Freedom. It will be a meeting with publishers, producers, musicians, publicists. The speech will be about the successes of Czech music abroad, the situation of clubs and institutions of alternative culture, musical criticism abroad and here - you can see not very well-known Czech video-clips and you can hear the music, which has been a winner of independent world public inquiry. So the result: the most important from this, what is here, and also from this, what is unfortunately isn't here…
On Sunday, as a bonus, there will be a screening of the film documentary by Wim Wenders about the star veterans of the Cuban scene Buena Vista Social Club, whose discovery - according to the producer's protection of guitarist Ry Cooder - happened an exceptional happening, crossing over intoworld music.
And at the end, the short revelation of Periskop, who the Submarines thought of (this year the work of Milan Cais, the visual artist and drummer of groups Tata Bojs and Oswald Schneider), goes to: Ivan Hartman, Pavel Klusák, Petr Korál, Karel Prokeš, Tomáš Seidl, Vladimír Vlasák.
