Canadian Season in Prague - performances presented by the Archa Theatre

Current programme

October 13 and 14, 2002
da da kamera
Daniel MacIvor: In On It
A theatre performance under the direction of Daniel MacIvor, author of the play and also one of the two performers. The play deals with the complex life's search for meanings that we find within chaos, and about the natural necessity to poke fun at these senses.

Da da kamera has been producing new work since 1986. The focus of its representatives Daniel MacIvor and Sherrie Johnson is above all on the process of creation, with no time limits and traditional roles. Their creations are successful attempts at the development of the fundamental relationship - a clear and simple exchange of energy between the actor and the audience.

October 17 - 19, 2002
Holy Body Tattoo and The Tiger Lillies
Circa
A dark duet suggests a perplexing ritual of lovers' foreplay and unfulfilled lovers' desire. A multimedia performance in the interpretation of Noam Gagnon and Dana Gingras accompanied by the Tiger Lillies from England.

The Holy Body Tattoo began in 1993, and its main performers are choreographers and dancers Noam Gagnon and Dana Gingras. Their risky, brilliantly constructed choreography reflects upon (and reflects outwardly) the concerns, ideas and attitudes of contemporary pop-culture, locating a sense of conscience and hope through intense physicality and deeply sought courage. The multimedia performances of the Holy Body Tattoo often explore the nature of the human endurance through ideas of surrender, fragility and broken elegance.
