Ultima Vez / Wim Vandkeybus (Belgium)
Scratching the Inner Fields
Choreography that lingers on the border of fantasy and imagination
One of the world's best contemporary dance theatre groups comes again to Archa Theatre, already for the fourth time, with its newest performance. The main theme of the work is imagination, intuition, feelings, and rememberences - the "inner fields" from where we draw strength and inspiration. The choreography is based upon the text of the original fairytale by the well known Belgian author Peter Verhelst. The music is composed by the breakbeat and electronic music composer known as the Eavesdropper. The sound design was created by the German sound designer and experimentor Josh Martin, who also performs live accommpaniment on electronic instruments. Five dancers and two actors make up the Ultima Vez group this time through. Choreography and direction: Wim Vandekeybus.

February 21 - 23, 8 p.m.
House of the Deaf
(inspired by the life and work of Francisco Goya)
A new project by the Archa Theatre. Conception, choreography and directed by: Zoja Mikotová. Played by: actors from the I Can't Hear Theatre (divadlo Neslyším).
A movement piece that was derived from the works of the ingenious Spanish painter Francisco Goya - in particular from his graphic work Caprichos (Rosemarie) and Los Disparates (the Fool). As this graphic work depicts Goya's inner, as well as outer, world after loosing his hearing, so do the hearing impaired actors also convey their thoughts and feelings through the movement, dance, light and music of the theatre performance.
Live music accompaniment by Dora Blahutová (cellist from the group Tara Fuki) and Karel Heřman (singer from the group Cankišou). Premiere performance!!!

Luciano Berio: A-Ronne
Edoardo Sanguineti: Novissimum Testamentum
Contemporary music for an experimental puppet performance
The puppet theatre movement and choreography is drawn from the contemporary classical music compositions of the world famous avantgarde Italian composer Luciano Berio that were based upon the poetic text of Edoardo Sanguineti. The result is a "madrigal - theatre for the ear", in which we get to know basic feelings: a meeting of friends, an argument on the town square, words spoken in a church, conflict, dreams, madness. The author and director is the American puppeteer Amy Luckenbach, who has worked in the past with Maurice Sendak and Philip Glass. Prepared in cooperation with the Italian Embassy.
With the personal attendance of the prominent Italian poet Edoardo Sanguineti!!
